New Meeting Location & Time

We would like to thank all the people that put work into helping us get re-located: Eric Grish of Computer Technologies Consultants (CTC) was very helpful in doing the leg work to scout locations and get his company behind us for financial support and Joe Coughlin of Directions Training for working with his team to pay the rent on the auditorium and get us set up at the new location. But with the move there is also a sad farewell to Judith Schneider of Digicon for being our Chairperson in charge of the Speakers Committee. She has done a marvelous job of keeping our calendar full for nearly 2 years.

Location: Downstairs Auditorium hosted by Directions Training at 2070 Chain Bridge Rd, Vienna, VA 22182 (Tysons Corner).

Meeting Schedule
SharePoint 2010, Claims-Based Identity, Facebook, and the Cloud
Start Date/Time: Thursday, February 09, 2012 6:30 PM
Recurring Event: One time event
Importance: Normal Priority
Description:
Claims-based identity is a new paradigm in SharePoint 2010 that opens up a vast array of possibilities for developers and architects alike, including the ability to leverage Windows Azure AppFabric's Access Control Services (ACS) to integrate OpenID authentication providers such as Facebook with SharePoint. This integration is likely to drive citizen engagement with public-facing government implementations of SharePoint in the future. In this demo-intensive session, I will introduce Claims-based identity, demonstrate how to configure the integration between SharePoint, Azure ACS, and Facebook, and then show some of the many exciting ways SharePoint and Facebook can leverage one another to maximize the value of this integration to citizens.

Danny Jessee is a senior software developer for The Corbin Company. He has specialized in development of custom SharePoint solutions since 2004 for federal government, military, and corporate customers. He holds an MCPD certification in SharePoint 2010 Application Development and an MCTS in SharePoint 2010 Configuration.
In his spare time, he enjoys running, meteorology, and cheering for his local sports teams.

Suggested audience: Admin, developer
