Topic #1: Extending SharePoint’s Business Intelligence with PerformancePoint Services, presented by Andy Isley.

Business Intelligence is a necessity in today’s challenging economic environment.  Businesses are being told to do more with less.  Costs are rising and profits are falling.  Business Intelligence tools from Microsoft enable organizations to monitor, analyze, and plan according to changing market climates.

Andy Isley has worked for Analytic Vision for nearly 5 years where he is currently serving as the Microsoft Practice Manager.  Andy is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and holds certifications for PerformancePoint Server and Windows SharePoint Services.  Andy has worked in Information Technology since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Western Carolina University in 1992.  Recent clients include Hanesbrands Inc., Sunbelt Rentals, and Gables Residential

Topic #2: Working with Custom Fields in SharePoint 2007, presented by Hemendra Patel

One of our own members, Hemendra Patel,  is going to share with us his experience in working with custom fields. He is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and Technology Specialist with over 13 years of background in software systems analysis, design, development, systems architecture, systems integration and relational databases. He has a successful software delivery track record covering Fortune 50 clients in the telecommunications, manufacturing, commercial and government sectors and currently working with Idea Integration as a SharePoint Architect.

Idea Integration is an IT consulting firm with local presence in Fairfax, VA.  Idea is a Gold Certified Partner, a National Systems Integrator Partner, and 2008 Partner of the Year – Information Worker Solutions, Data Visualization for its work with the City of Houston, Texas.

Meeting Format:

We have meetings on the second Thursday of every month. There is normally a “Meet-Greet & Eat” for networking beginning at 6PM. At 7PM there are featured speakers, The meetings are scheduled to end at 9PM. Engrossed parties often continue discussions after meetings if the venue permits.
